Ingredients

  • 12 oz egg noodles
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1.5 lbs ground beef
  • 1 small onion, minced
  • 3 cloves garlic, chopped
  • 2 ½ cups tomato sauce
  • 1 (15 oz) can diced tomatoes, drained
  • 2 cups cheddar cheese, shredded (shred it yourself for best melt)
  • Salt & pepper, to taste
  • 2 tbsp garlic powder (divided)
  • 1–2 tbsp Italian seasoning
  • Cooking spray
  • Dried parsley, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven – Set to 350°F (175°C). Spray a 9×13” baking dish with cooking spray.
  2. Cook Aromatics & Beef – In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Sauté onion and garlic for 2 minutes, then add ground beef. Season with salt, pepper, and half the garlic powder. Cook until browned, breaking up the meat. Drain excess fat if needed.
  3. Make the Sauce – Add diced tomatoes and tomato sauce to the beef. Season with remaining garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Stir and let simmer for 5 minutes.
  4. Combine with Pasta – Cook egg noodles according to package directions, then drain. Add noodles to the beef mixture and toss until evenly coated.
  5. Bake with Cheese – Transfer mixture to the prepared baking dish. Top with shredded cheddar. Bake uncovered for 20–30 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
