Description
Rich, chocolatey fudge brownies topped with candy eyeballs for a fun Halloween twist.
Ingredients
- 1 box fudge brownie mix
- ¼ cup water
- ⅓ cup oil
- 1 egg
- 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 (14 oz) can sweetened condensed milk
- 1 tsp chocolate extract
- Candy eyeballs
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F. Line an 8×8-inch pan with foil or parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, combine brownie mix, water, oil, and egg. Mix until smooth. Pour into the prepared pan.
- Bake for 40 minutes or until brownies are set. Leave in the pan and cool completely.
- Bring 2 inches of water to a boil in a small pot. Place a heatproof bowl over the pot, ensuring it doesn’t touch the water.
- Add chocolate chips and sweetened condensed milk to the bowl. Stir until fully melted and smooth. Stir in chocolate extract.
- Pour fudge evenly over the cooled brownies.
- Press candy eyeballs into the top of the fudge while still soft.
- Let the brownies cool for 2–3 hours before slicing into squares.
Notes
Use parchment paper with overhanging edges to lift brownies easily from the pan. For a cleaner cut, chill brownies before slicing. Add a drizzle of red icing for an extra spooky ‘bloody eye’ effect.
