Delicious sliders combining crispy bacon, fresh vegetables, and marinated chicken, all nestled between soft buns, perfect for any gathering.
Ingredients
- 2 lbs. chicken tenders
- 1 pack Hawaiian slider buns
- Mayonnaise, to taste
- Sweet Baby Ray’s Golden Mustard
- 8 strips bacon, cooked crisp
- Colby Jack cheese, sliced
- 1/2 head lettuce
- 1/2 small red onion, sliced thin
- 2 Roma tomatoes, sliced thin
- 4-5 tablespoons oil for marinade and cooking chicken
- 2 tablespoons smoked paprika
- 1 tablespoon cayenne pepper
- 1 tablespoon onion powder
- 2 teaspoons garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 stick butter, softened
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
Instructions
- Marinate the chicken: Place the tenders in a zip-top bag or bowl. Add several tablespoons of blackened seasoning and oil, then mix thoroughly.
- Cook the chicken: Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and cook the chicken for about 3 minutes on each side.
- Prepare the butter topping: Combine the softened butter, minced garlic, parsley, and a pinch of salt in a small bowl. Heat in the microwave for 30 seconds until melted.
- Toast the buns: Slice the slider buns horizontally if needed and toast under the broiler until golden brown.
- Assemble the sliders: Spread mayo on bottom buns, layer with chicken, honey mustard, and cheese.
- Top with butter mixture: Spread over the top buns, then broil again for 1-2 minutes until the cheese melts.
- Add the finishing touches: Top with bacon, tomatoes, red onion, lettuce, and more honey mustard. Place the top buns on, slice into sliders, and serve.
Notes
For a vegetarian option, substitute chicken tenders with grilled tofu or plant-based chicken alternatives. Store leftovers in an airtight container for 2-3 days.
