Description

These Easy Spider Peanut Butter Halloween Cookies are soft, chewy, and topped with Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups to create spooky spider shapes. Perfect for Halloween festivities!


Ingredients

  • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, room temperature
  • 1/2 cup light brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup smooth peanut butter
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 1 Tbsp. whole milk
  • 15-20 miniature Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups
  • 1/4 cup semi-sweet chocolate
  • 30-40 candy eyes


Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  2. Cream together butter, light brown sugar, and granulated sugar until fluffy. Add peanut butter and mix until smooth.
  3. Add egg, vanilla extract, and milk; mix well until smooth.
  4. Gradually mix in dry ingredients until just combined. Cover and chill for at least 2 hours.
  5. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Scoop dough into 2 Tbsp. balls and place 2 inches apart on a parchment-lined cookie sheet. Bake for 10-12 minutes until golden brown.
  6. After cooling for 3-5 minutes on the baking sheet, press a Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup on top of each cookie.
  7. Allow cookies to cool completely on a wire rack. Melt semi-sweet chocolate and pipe 8 spider legs on each cookie, then use melted chocolate to attach candy eyes.
  8. Chill cookies briefly to set the decorations, then serve and enjoy!

Notes

Chilling the dough is key for the perfect texture. Use creamy peanut butter for the best results.
