These Easy Spider Peanut Butter Halloween Cookies are soft, chewy, and topped with Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups to create spooky spider shapes. Perfect for Halloween festivities!
Ingredients
- 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, room temperature
- 1/2 cup light brown sugar
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup smooth peanut butter
- 1 egg
- 2 tsp. vanilla extract
- 1 Tbsp. whole milk
- 15-20 miniature Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups
- 1/4 cup semi-sweet chocolate
- 30-40 candy eyes
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
- Cream together butter, light brown sugar, and granulated sugar until fluffy. Add peanut butter and mix until smooth.
- Add egg, vanilla extract, and milk; mix well until smooth.
- Gradually mix in dry ingredients until just combined. Cover and chill for at least 2 hours.
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Scoop dough into 2 Tbsp. balls and place 2 inches apart on a parchment-lined cookie sheet. Bake for 10-12 minutes until golden brown.
- After cooling for 3-5 minutes on the baking sheet, press a Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup on top of each cookie.
- Allow cookies to cool completely on a wire rack. Melt semi-sweet chocolate and pipe 8 spider legs on each cookie, then use melted chocolate to attach candy eyes.
- Chill cookies briefly to set the decorations, then serve and enjoy!
Notes
Chilling the dough is key for the perfect texture. Use creamy peanut butter for the best results.
