Description

A dump-and-go crockpot teriyaki chicken dish that’s perfect for busy days, featuring tender bites of chicken in a sweet-savory teriyaki sauce.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • ½ cup teriyaki sauce
  • 4 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 pound chicken, diced (breasts or thighs)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, whisk together the chicken broth, teriyaki sauce, brown sugar, and minced garlic until the sugar is mostly dissolved.
  2. Add the diced chicken to the bowl and toss until every piece is well coated in the sauce.
  3. Pour the entire mixture into your slow cooker, spreading the chicken out into an even layer so it cooks evenly.
  4. Cover and cook on Low for 4–6 hours, or until the chicken is cooked through and tender.
  5. Give the sauce a quick stir, then serve the teriyaki chicken over rice, noodles, or steamed vegetables, spooning extra sauce from the crockpot over the top.

Notes

For a thicker sauce, stir together 1 tablespoon cornstarch and 1 tablespoon cold water, whisk into the hot sauce, and cook on High for 10–15 minutes until thickened. Consider adding frozen stir-fry veggies or bell pepper strips during the last 45–60 minutes of cooking for a full meal.
