Description
A dump-and-go crockpot teriyaki chicken dish that’s perfect for busy days, featuring tender bites of chicken in a sweet-savory teriyaki sauce.
Ingredients
- 1 cup chicken broth
- ½ cup teriyaki sauce
- 4 tablespoons brown sugar
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 pound chicken, diced (breasts or thighs)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, whisk together the chicken broth, teriyaki sauce, brown sugar, and minced garlic until the sugar is mostly dissolved.
- Add the diced chicken to the bowl and toss until every piece is well coated in the sauce.
- Pour the entire mixture into your slow cooker, spreading the chicken out into an even layer so it cooks evenly.
- Cover and cook on Low for 4–6 hours, or until the chicken is cooked through and tender.
- Give the sauce a quick stir, then serve the teriyaki chicken over rice, noodles, or steamed vegetables, spooning extra sauce from the crockpot over the top.
Notes
For a thicker sauce, stir together 1 tablespoon cornstarch and 1 tablespoon cold water, whisk into the hot sauce, and cook on High for 10–15 minutes until thickened. Consider adding frozen stir-fry veggies or bell pepper strips during the last 45–60 minutes of cooking for a full meal.
