Description
These double chocolate Oreo cookies got a spooky Halloween makeover! Soft, fudgy chocolate cookies are topped with gooey marshmallow webs and Oreo cookies decorated for Halloween, perfect for parties or a cozy night in.
Ingredients
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup brown sugar
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup cocoa powder (unsweetened)
- 1 tsp baking soda
- ½ tsp salt
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 8–10 Halloween-themed Oreo cookies
- 1 cup mini marshmallows
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs and vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients until just combined. Fold in the chocolate chips.
- Scoop dough onto a parchment-lined baking sheet, leaving space between cookies. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 10–12 minutes until edges are set but centers remain soft.
- While cookies are still slightly warm, melt the marshmallows in the microwave for 15–20 seconds. Use a fork or fingers to stretch the melted marshmallows into web-like strands over each cookie.
- Press a Halloween Oreo into the center of each cookie for a festive finish. Let cool before serving.
Notes
Use Halloween-themed Oreos (pumpkin or spiderweb designs) for an extra spooky look. For richer cookies, swap semi-sweet chips with dark chocolate chunks. To keep marshmallow webs fresh, add them shortly before serving.
