An easy-to-make creamy casserole with just five ingredients, perfect for busy days and family dinners.
Ingredients
- 3 cups cooked and shredded chicken (rotisserie works great)
- 1 (10.5 oz) can cream of chicken soup
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 ½ cups grated cheddar cheese
- 1 sleeve butter crackers (such as Ritz), crushed
Instructions
- Shred the cooked chicken.
- In a mixing bowl, stir together the shredded chicken, cream of chicken soup, and sour cream until well combined.
- Grease a 9-inch square baking dish and spread half of the chicken mixture into the dish. Sprinkle with half of the grated cheddar cheese.
- Top with the remaining chicken mixture and the rest of the cheese.
- Crush the butter crackers and sprinkle the crumbs evenly over the top of the casserole.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake the casserole for 30 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and the top is golden brown.
- Let the casserole rest for 5 minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh herbs if desired.
Notes
Add veggies like peas or corn for extra nutrition. For a crispier topping, broil for the last 2-3 minutes of baking.
