A family favorite that combines tender chicken breasts with a creamy, flavorful sauce, perfect for weeknight dinners or entertaining.
Ingredients
- 4 large chicken breasts (boneless and skinless)
- 1 can (10 ¾ oz) cream of mushroom soup
- 1 can (10 ¾ oz) cream of chicken soup
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 can (8 oz) mushrooms (stems and pieces), drained
- ½ cup water
- ½ tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp chives (chopped)
- ½ tsp paprika
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ tsp pepper
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with non-stick cooking spray.
- Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper, then place them in the prepared baking dish.
- In a bowl, mix together the cream of mushroom soup, cream of chicken soup, sour cream, mushrooms, water, onion powder, and chives. Spoon this creamy mixture over the chicken breasts and sprinkle with paprika.
- Bake for 40-60 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through (internal temperature should reach 165°F). The cream mixture should be lightly browned on top.
Notes
Serve with mashed potatoes, rice, or pasta to soak up the creamy sauce. Roasted vegetables or a simple green salad make great side dishes.
