Description
Bring Southern comfort straight to your table with this creamy Green Bean Casserole — the ultimate side dish for family gatherings or cozy dinners.
Ingredients
- 1 pinch Paula Deen’s House Seasoning
- 1 (2.8 oz) can french-fried onion rings
- 1 (10 ¾ oz) can cream of mushroom soup
- 3 cups chicken broth
- 2 cups sliced green beans
- ½ cup sliced fresh mushrooms
- ½ cup diced onions
- ⅓ stick butter
- 1 cup grated cheddar cheese
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 1½-quart baking dish.
- Melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add onions and mushrooms; sauté until golden and tender.
- Boil green beans in chicken broth for about 10 minutes, then drain well to remove excess moisture.
- Combine the cooked beans, mushroom soup, onion rings, and a pinch of Paula Deen’s House Seasoning in a large bowl. Mix thoroughly to coat everything evenly.
- Transfer the mixture to the prepared baking dish and bake uncovered for 20 minutes.
- Top with shredded cheddar cheese and bake an additional 10 minutes, until bubbly and the cheese has melted.
- Serve warm for the perfect comforting side dish that pairs beautifully with turkey, ham, or roasted chicken.
Notes
Use fresh green beans for extra texture — just blanch them for 2–3 minutes before mixing. Add crispy bacon bits on top for a smoky Southern twist. Prepare ahead: assemble the casserole a day before, refrigerate, and bake right before serving.
