Step 1: Melt the Chocolate & Butter

  • Prepare a double boiler – Fill a small saucepan with 1-2 inches of water and bring it to a gentle simmer.
  • Place a heatproof bowl over the saucepan (without touching the water) and add the chopped chocolate and butter.
  • Stir continuously as the mixture melts into a silky, glossy consistency.
  • Alternative method: If using a microwave, melt the chocolate and butter in 20-second intervals, stirring between each until smooth.
  • Pro Tip: Avoid overheating the chocolate, as it can become grainy. Stir gently for a flawless, smooth texture.

Step 2: Blend in the Creamy Elements

  • Once melted, remove the bowl from heat and slowly stir in the sweetened condensed milk until fully incorporated.
  • Add vanilla extract for extra depth of flavor and a pinch of salt to balance the sweetness.
  • If using any mix-ins like espresso powder, chopped nuts, or caramel drizzle, fold them in now for added richness.

Step 3: Pour & Set the Mixture

  • Line a small baking dish with parchment paper for easy removal.
  • Pour the mixture into the dish and spread it evenly with a spatula.
