3 cups all-purpose flour

2 ½ teaspoons baking powder

1 cup unsalted butter, softened

2 cups granulated sugar

4 large eggs

1 teaspoon almond extract

1 cup whole milk

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions
 

Prepare the Batter:

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease your cake pans.
  • Cream butter and sugar in a large mixing bowl until light and fluffy.
  • Add eggs one at a time, mixing thoroughly after each. Stir in vanilla and almond extracts.

Combine Dry and Wet Ingredients:

  • Sift flour and baking powder together. Gradually mix into the batter, alternating with milk, until smooth.

Bake the Layers:

  • Divide batter evenly among pans and bake for 30–35 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  • Let layers cool completely before frosting.

Decorate:

  • Frost and stack layers, ensuring even spacing. Add decorations such as fresh flowers or edible gold leaf.
