Description

Tender and moist vanilla cupcakes that are perfect for any occasion.


Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups (190 g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup (115 g) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup (200 g) granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs, room temperature
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) milk, room temperature


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 12-cup cupcake pan with paper liners.
  2. Whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt in a medium bowl. Set aside.
  3. Cream the softened butter and sugar in a large bowl with a mixer until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each. Stir in the vanilla.
  5. Alternate adding the dry ingredients and milk to the butter mixture, mixing until just combined.
  6. Divide the batter among the prepared liners, filling each about two-thirds full.
  7. Bake for 18–22 minutes, rotating the pan halfway through.
  8. Cool completely before frosting.

Notes

For extra-moist cupcakes, replace 2 tablespoons of milk with yogurt or sour cream.
