A classic upside-down cake featuring sweet caramelized fruit, perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
- 2 cups chopped fruits (e.g., pineapple, peaches, or apples)
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup milk
- 3 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a round cake pan.
- Melt the butter and pour it into the bottom of the pan, then sprinkle the brown sugar evenly over the melted butter.
- Arrange the chopped fruits evenly over the brown sugar layer.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, and vanilla extract. Combine the wet and dry ingredients until just mixed.
- Pour the batter gently over the fruit layer in the pan.
- Bake for 35-40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow the cake to cool for a few minutes before inverting it onto a serving plate. Serve warm and enjoy!
