Juicy and flavorful Thai-style turkey burgers infused with lemongrass, ginger, and basil, perfect for a healthy yet satisfying meal.
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground turkey (93% lean)
- 2 tablespoons lemongrass, finely chopped
- 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
- 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon fish sauce
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- Burger buns
- Toppings (lettuce, tomato, cucumber, etc.)
Instructions
- Add the ground turkey to a large bowl. Sprinkle in the lemongrass, ginger, basil, garlic, soy sauce, fish sauce, sugar, and black pepper.
- Mix gently until evenly combined, avoiding overmixing.
- Divide the mixture into 4 portions and shape into patties, about 3/4-inch thick, pressing a dimple in the center of each.
- Heat a grill or skillet over medium heat, lightly oiling the surface.
- Cook the patties for 5–7 minutes per side, until browned and cooked through.
- Check that turkey reaches 165°F (74°C) in the center.
- Let patties rest for 2–3 minutes before serving.
- Assemble the patties on buns and add your preferred toppings.
Notes
These burgers reheat well and can be frozen for up to 3 months. Customize toppings for a personal twist.
