Description

A flavor-packed comfort meal combining savory garlic, tender steak, and a sweet and spicy sauce, perfect for cozy nights or impressing guests.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb sirloin steak, cut into bite-sized cubes
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce (for marinating steak)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil (for searing steak)
  • 4 garlic cloves, finely minced
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce (for the sauce)
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp sriracha (adjust to taste)
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tsp toasted sesame oil
  • 1 tsp crushed red pepper flakes
  • 2 tbsp water (to loosen sauce)
  • 8 oz pasta (spaghetti, linguine, or fettuccine)
  • Salt for pasta water
  • 2 tbsp butter (for tossing pasta)
  • Optional Garnish: toasted sesame seeds, chopped parsley, green onions, or extra red pepper flakes

Instructions

  1. Boil a large pot of salted water and cook your pasta of choice until al dente. Save ½ cup of pasta water before draining and toss the hot pasta with butter.
  2. Pat the steak cubes dry and marinate in soy sauce, olive oil, salt, and pepper for 10 minutes.
  3. Heat a skillet over medium-high and sear the marinated steak cubes for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown. Remove and set aside.
  4. In the same pan, lower the heat and sauté minced garlic until fragrant, then add soy sauce, honey, brown sugar, sriracha, rice vinegar, sesame oil, and red pepper flakes. Let the sauce simmer for 1-2 minutes until thickened.
  5. Add the buttered pasta to the skillet and toss to coat in the sauce, adding reserved pasta water if necessary. Return the steak to the pan and mix until warm.
  6. Plate the pasta and garnish with sesame seeds, chopped green onions, and red pepper flakes before serving.

Notes

Adjust the spice level according to your preference and add vegetables for extra texture.
