Description
A flavor-packed dish that brings together savory garlic, tender steak, and a sticky, spicy sauce, all perfectly coating your pasta.
Ingredients
- 1 lb sirloin steak, cut into bite-sized cubes
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- 1 tbsp soy sauce (for marinating steak)
- 1 tbsp olive oil (for searing steak)
- 4 garlic cloves, finely minced
- 3 tbsp soy sauce (for the sauce)
- 2 tbsp honey
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- 2 tbsp sriracha (adjust to taste)
- 1 tbsp rice vinegar
- 1 tsp toasted sesame oil
- 1 tsp crushed red pepper flakes
- 2 tbsp water (to loosen sauce)
- 8 oz pasta (spaghetti, linguine, or fettuccine)
- Salt for pasta water
- 2 tbsp butter (for tossing pasta)
- Optional Garnish: toasted sesame seeds, chopped parsley, green onions, or extra red pepper flakes
Instructions
- Boil a large pot of salted water and cook your pasta of choice until al dente. Save ½ cup of pasta water before draining and toss the hot pasta with butter.
- Pat the steak cubes dry and marinate them in soy sauce, olive oil, salt, and pepper for about 10 minutes.
- In a large skillet, sear the marinated steak cubes for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown. Remove and set aside.
- In the same pan, sauté minced garlic until fragrant, then add soy sauce, honey, brown sugar, sriracha, rice vinegar, sesame oil, and red pepper flakes. Simmer for 1-2 minutes until thickened.
- Add the buttered pasta to the skillet, tossing to coat in the sauce. Add reserved pasta water if needed. Return steak to the pan and mix until warm.
- Plate the pasta and garnish with sesame seeds, chopped green onions, and red pepper flakes.
Notes
For a spicier dish, adjust the amount of sriracha and red pepper flakes. Feel free to add veggies like bell peppers or broccoli for extra crunch.
