Description

A delightful strawberry sauce that adds fruity sweetness to desserts like pancakes, cheesecake, and ice cream.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups fresh strawberries
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Wash the strawberries under cool running water, then hull them to remove the green tops.
  2. Cut the strawberries in half or quarters, depending on your preference.
  3. Combine the halved strawberries, sugar, lemon juice, and vanilla extract in a medium saucepan.
  4. Set the saucepan over medium heat and gently stir until the strawberries release their juices and the mixture starts to bubble, approximately 5-7 minutes.
  5. Remove from heat and allow the sauce to cool slightly before serving.
  6. Drizzle the sauce over your favorite desserts like cheesecake, pound cake, or yogurt.

Notes

Store leftover strawberry sauce in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week. To keep longer, freeze in ice cube trays.
