Description

A delightful dessert that combines sweet strawberries with salty pretzels, perfect for summer gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups pretzel sticks
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 8 oz whipped topping, thawed
  • 2 cups strawberries, sliced
  • 1 cup strawberry gelatin
  • 2 cups boiling water

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Crush the pretzel sticks in a zip-top bag until coarse. Combine them with melted butter and granulated sugar.
  3. Press this mixture into the bottom of a 9×13 inch pan.
  4. Bake for 10 minutes, then allow it to cool completely on a wire rack.
  5. In a mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with powdered sugar until smooth. Fold in the thawed whipped topping and spread this creamy layer over the cooled pretzel crust.
  6. In another bowl, dissolve the strawberry gelatin in boiling water. Once slightly cooled, stir in the sliced strawberries.
  7. Pour the strawberry gelatin mixture over the cream cheese layer and refrigerate until fully set, about 120-240 minutes.
  8. Serve chilled and enjoy!

Notes

For a lighter version, substitute low-fat cream cheese and whipped topping.
