Description

Delicious spicy shrimp tacos with a refreshing slaw, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 cups shredded cabbage (green or purple)
  • 1 cup shredded carrots
  • 2 green onions, sliced
  • 2 tbsp lime juice
  • 1 tbsp honey or agave (optional)
  • Corn or flour tortillas
  • Avocado slices for topping
  • Fresh cilantro for garnish
  • Lime wedges for serving

Instructions

  1. Marinate the Shrimp: In a bowl, mix together the olive oil, chili powder, cumin, paprika, minced garlic, salt, and pepper. Add the shrimp, ensuring they are well coated. Let marinate for at least 15 minutes.
  2. Prepare the Slaw: In another bowl, combine shredded cabbage, carrots, green onions, lime juice, and honey (if using). Toss gently and season with salt. Set aside.
  3. Cook the Shrimp: Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the marinated shrimp and cook for about 2–3 minutes on each side, or until they turn pink and opaque.
  4. Assemble the Tacos: Warm the tortillas in a pan. Place some slaw on each tortilla, add the cooked shrimp, and top with avocado slices and fresh cilantro.
  5. Serve: Enjoy with lime wedges on the side for an extra burst of flavor.

Notes

Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. For best results, keep the slaw separate.
