Description
Juicy turkey burgers are elevated with melty pepper jack cheese and fresh jalapeños for a bold and smoky flavor.
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground turkey (93% lean)
- 1/2 cup pepper jack cheese, shredded
- 1–2 jalapeño peppers, finely chopped
- 1/4 cup breadcrumbs (plain or panko)
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Burger buns
- Toppings (lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, extra jalapeños, avocado, etc.)
Instructions
- Mix the ground turkey with pepper jack cheese, jalapeños, breadcrumbs, egg, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper until combined.
- Form the mixture into 4 equal patties about 3/4-inch thick.
- Preheat your grill or skillet over medium heat and lightly oil it.
- Cook the patties for 5–6 minutes per side, flipping until browned and fully cooked through.
- Toast the burger buns cut-side down for 30–60 seconds until golden.
- Assemble the burgers with patties and your favorite toppings, and serve immediately.
Notes
For a smoky flavor, add chipotle peppers or cayenne. Use a thermometer to ensure turkey reaches 165°F.
