Ingredients
- 1 whole chicken
- 4 cups chicken broth
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 egg
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 onion, diced
- 2 carrots, sliced
- 2 celery stalks, sliced
- Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Boil the whole chicken in chicken broth until fully cooked.
- Remove the chicken, shred it with a fork, and set it aside.
- In the same pot, sauté the diced onion, sliced carrots, and celery until tender.
- In a mixing bowl, combine flour, milk, egg, baking powder, salt, and pepper to form a dough.
- Drop spoonfuls of dough into the boiling broth to create dumplings.
- Cook dumplings for 10-15 minutes until puffed and cooked through.
- Return the shredded chicken to the pot and gently stir to combine.
- Serve hot, garnished with fresh parsley.
