Ingredients
- ½ cup butter, softened
- 3 cups powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons heavy whipping cream
- ¼ teaspoon peppermint extract
- Red gel food coloring
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter until light and fluffy.
- Gradually mix in the heavy cream, powdered sugar, and peppermint extract until a smooth, thick dough forms.
- Separate the dough into two portions; leave three-quarters white and tint the remaining quarter with red food coloring.
- Roll each color into thin ropes, twist one red and one white rope together, then pinch off small sections to form individual mints.
- Arrange shaped mints on parchment paper and let them air dry for 1–2 hours; cut into pieces and allow to dry for 24 hours.
Notes
Use gel food coloring for vibrant colors without altering the dough texture. Store in an airtight container.
