Description
Tender, slow-cooked spare ribs in a flavorful barbecue sauce that fall off the bone, perfect for weeknights or gatherings.
Ingredients
- 2 pounds spare ribs
- 1 cup barbecue sauce
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Pat ribs dry with paper towels and remove the membrane if desired.
- Season both sides of the ribs with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika.
- Arrange the ribs in the slow cooker.
- Whisk together barbecue sauce and brown sugar until smooth and pour over ribs.
- Cover and cook on LOW for 6-8 hours or HIGH for 3-4 hours until tender.
- Optional: Broil or grill for 3-5 minutes per side for a caramelized finish.
- Let rest for 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
For spicier ribs, add cayenne or chipotle. Use maple syrup as a substitute for brown sugar.
