Ingredients
- 12 pre-cooked hot dogs (beef, pork, turkey, or plant-based)
- 1 to 2 cups water, low-sodium chicken broth, or beer
- 1 medium yellow onion, thinly sliced (optional)
- 2 tablespoons butter (optional)

Instructions
- Place the hot dogs in the slow cooker in a single layer or slightly overlapping.
- Add sliced onion if using. Dot the butter over the top.

- Cover the slow cooker and cook on low for 3–4 hours or high for 1.5–2 hours.
- Check at the shorter time to prevent overcooking.
- When heated, remove with tongs and toast buns briefly.
- Serve hot dogs in buns with condiments and toppings.
Notes
For fewer servings, halve quantities. For more guests, scale up and use a large slow cooker. Substitute veggie or tofu dogs if preferred.
