Description
A cheesy and saucy casserole that captures the classic flavors of Sloppy Joes, topped with biscuits and ready in just 30 minutes.
Ingredients
- 1 ½ lbs ground beef
- 1 can (15 oz) Sloppy Joe sauce
- ½ cup chopped dill pickle slices
- 1 can (16 oz) refrigerated biscuits, cut into 6 pieces
- 8 oz shredded Colby Jack or cheddar cheese
- Optional: Nonstick spray for baking dish
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef. Drain excess grease and return to the pan.
- Stir in the Sloppy Joe sauce and chopped pickles until evenly coated.
- Cut each biscuit into six pieces and add them to the meat mixture with 1 cup of shredded cheese. Stir gently to coat.
- Spray a 9×13-inch baking dish with nonstick spray and spread the mixture evenly. Sprinkle the remaining cheese on top.
- Bake for 28–30 minutes, or until the biscuits are puffed and golden brown.
- Cool slightly, then serve with optional toppings like ketchup or mustard.
Notes
For added texture, consider sprinkling crushed onions or breadcrumbs on top before baking.
