Description

A simple and delicious treat that highlights the natural sweetness of asparagus.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound fresh asparagus
  • 2 to 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt (or to taste)
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper (or to taste)


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (204°C).
  2. Wash the asparagus and trim off the woody ends.
  3. Pat the asparagus dry with paper towels.
  4. Spread it out in a single layer on a rimmed baking sheet.
  5. Drizzle the asparagus with olive oil. Season with salt and pepper, tossing to coat evenly.
  6. Roast the asparagus for 12 to 15 minutes, flipping halfway through, until it’s tender and lightly browned.
  7. Serve immediately and enjoy.

Notes

You can replace olive oil with melted butter, and add garlic powder for a delicious seasoning twist. For serving ideas, drizzle with balsamic reduction or top with Parmesan cheese.
