Ingredients
- 2 cups canned crushed tomatoes
- 1/2 cup cream cheese
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh basil for garnish
- Cooked pasta of your choice (spaghetti, penne, etc.)
Instructions
- Heat olive oil over medium heat in a large skillet.
- Add minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
- Stir in crushed tomatoes, seasoning them with salt and pepper.
- Lower the heat and add cream cheese, stirring until it completely melts and combines smoothly.
- Let the sauce simmer for about 5-10 minutes, allowing it to thicken slightly.
- Toss with your cooked pasta and serve hot, garnished with fresh basil.
Notes
For a richer taste, swap cream cheese with mascarpone. Add sautéed mushrooms or spinach for extra veggies.
