Description

A nostalgic and easy-to-make pineapple upside down cake, perfect for any occasion.


Ingredients

  • 1 box yellow cake mix
  • 1 can sliced pineapple (in juice)
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • Maraschino cherries (for garnish, optional)


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Melt the butter in a 9×13 inch pan.
  3. Sprinkle the brown sugar evenly over the melted butter.
  4. Arrange the pineapple slices on top of the brown sugar, adding a cherry in the center of each slice if you like.
  5. Prepare the yellow cake mix according to the package instructions and pour the batter evenly over the pineapple layer.
  6. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  7. Cool for a few minutes and then invert onto a serving plate. Enjoy!

Notes

Serve with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
