Ingredients
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 can (20 oz) sliced pineapple in juice
- Maraschino cherries
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/3 cup vegetable oil
- 3 eggs
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Melt the butter in a round cake pan. Stir in the brown sugar until smooth.
- Arrange the pineapple slices over the butter and sugar, placing a cherry in the center of each slice.
- Mix together the flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt in a bowl.
- Beat the eggs in another bowl, then mix in milk, oil, and vanilla extract.
- Combine the wet and dry ingredients, then pour the batter over the pineapple layer in the pan.
- Bake for 40-45 minutes or until the cake is golden brown.
- Invert the cake onto a serving plate and serve warm.
