Ingredients
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 can (15 oz) pineapple slices
- Maraschino cherries
- 1 and 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup milk
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Melt the butter in a 9-inch round cake pan, ensuring it coats the bottom evenly.
- Sprinkle the brown sugar over the melted butter.
- Arrange the pineapple slices on top of the brown sugar, placing a maraschino cherry in the center of each slice.
- Mix the flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt in a bowl.
- Whisk together the milk, eggs, and vanilla until well combined in another bowl.
- Combine the wet and dry ingredients, then pour the batter over the pineapple and cherries in the pan.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Cool for a few minutes before inverting it onto a serving plate.
