Description

A delightful homemade cake featuring a moist texture and vibrant flavor, topped with cream cheese frosting.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 can (8 oz) crushed pineapple, drained
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a sheet cake pan.
  2. Cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  4. Stir in the drained crushed pineapple and vanilla extract for flavor.
  5. Sift together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a separate bowl.
  6. Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet mixture, alternating with the buttermilk.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared pan, smoothing the top.
  8. Bake for about 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  9. Allow the cake to cool completely before frosting it.
  10. Blend cream cheese with powdered sugar and crushed pineapple, then spread over the cooled cake.

Notes

For the best results, use room temperature ingredients and drain the pineapple thoroughly. Consider customizing with toasted coconut or nuts.
