Description

A quick and delightful side dish featuring crisp-tender asparagus roasted to perfection with garlic and optional parmesan.


Ingredients

  • 1 bunch asparagus (ends trimmed)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt & pepper (to taste)
  • 1/2 cup freshly grated parmesan cheese (optional)


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and position the rack in the middle.
  2. Arrange the asparagus on a baking sheet (line it with foil or parchment paper for easy clean-up if desired).
  3. Drizzle the olive oil and lemon juice over the asparagus.
  4. Season with garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Toss the asparagus with your hands to ensure everything is well-coated.
  5. Spread the asparagus into an even layer and sprinkle parmesan over the top if using.
  6. Bake, uncovered, for 12-15 minutes, or until the asparagus is cooked to your liking. Start checking for doneness around the 10-minute mark for thin spears.
