Description

Indulge in these crispy air fryer apple fritters, no oven required! Perfect for a quick dessert or a delightful snack, they’re easy to make and full of flavor.

Ingredients

  • 1½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon fine sea salt
  • ¼ teaspoon cinnamon
  • ⅓ cup granulated sugar
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • ½ cup unsweetened applesauce
  • ¼ cup milk of choice
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 large apple, peeled and diced
  • Glaze: 1½ cups powdered sugar, sifted
  • 23 tablespoons milk of choice

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.
  2. In a separate bowl, combine the sugar with the melted butter. Add the applesauce, milk, and vanilla extract, stirring to incorporate.
  3. Stir in the dry ingredients until just combined. Fold in the diced apples.
  4. Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
  5. Scoop about ¼ cup of batter per fritter and arrange in the basket, leaving space between each. Cook for 5–6 minutes, then flip and cook for an additional 5–6 minutes until golden brown.
  6. In a medium bowl, stir together the powdered sugar and milk until smooth. Drizzle over the warm fritters.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a week. Reheat in the air fryer at 350°F (175°C) for 3–4 minutes to restore crispiness. Add a splash of vanilla extract to the batter for enhanced flavor.
