Tender, juicy ribs baked in the oven with a flavorful dry rub and glossy barbecue sauce, perfect for any gathering.
Ingredients
- 2 racks of baby back ribs
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon onion powder
- 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 cup barbecue sauce
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C).
- In a small bowl, combine garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, brown sugar, salt, and black pepper to create your dry rub.
- Generously apply the rub all over the ribs and place them on a baking sheet lined with foil.
- Cover the ribs tightly with foil and bake for 2.5 to 3 hours until they become tender.
- After baking, remove the foil and generously brush barbecue sauce over the ribs.
- Raise the oven temperature to 400°F (200°C) and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, basting with more sauce as desired.
- Finally, allow the ribs to rest for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
Allowing the ribs to rest ensures they stay juicy. For extra tenderness, wrap the ribs tightly in foil during baking.
