Description

A quick and flavorful dish that combines buttery cod with a tangy lemon-garlic sauce, perfect for weeknight dinners or special occasions.

Ingredients

  • 4 cod fillets (6 oz each)
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 3 tbsp freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • Zest of 1 lemon
  • Salt and pepper (to taste)
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley (chopped)

Instructions

  1. Pat the cod fillets dry using paper towels and season both sides with salt and pepper.
  2. Heat a large skillet over medium heat and melt the unsalted butter and olive oil together.
  3. Add the minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for about a minute until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
  4. Place the seasoned cod fillets skin-side down in the skillet and cook for 4-5 minutes until the skin is golden brown and crispy.
  5. Gently flip the fillets, pour in the lemon juice, and cook for another 3-4 minutes until the fish flakes easily with a fork.
  6. Remove from heat, garnish with chopped parsley and lemon zest, then serve immediately.

Notes

For added flavor, consider adding capers or red pepper flakes, and experiment with different herbs.
