Description
A quick and flavorful dish that combines buttery cod with a tangy lemon-garlic sauce, perfect for weeknight dinners or special occasions.
Ingredients
- 4 cod fillets (6 oz each)
- 3 tbsp unsalted butter
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 4 cloves garlic (minced)
- 3 tbsp freshly squeezed lemon juice
- Zest of 1 lemon
- Salt and pepper (to taste)
- 2 tbsp fresh parsley (chopped)
Instructions
- Pat the cod fillets dry using paper towels and season both sides with salt and pepper.
- Heat a large skillet over medium heat and melt the unsalted butter and olive oil together.
- Add the minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for about a minute until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
- Place the seasoned cod fillets skin-side down in the skillet and cook for 4-5 minutes until the skin is golden brown and crispy.
- Gently flip the fillets, pour in the lemon juice, and cook for another 3-4 minutes until the fish flakes easily with a fork.
- Remove from heat, garnish with chopped parsley and lemon zest, then serve immediately.
Notes
For added flavor, consider adding capers or red pepper flakes, and experiment with different herbs.
