Description

A quick and elegant dish featuring succulent shrimp in a rich lemon garlic butter sauce, ready in about 20 minutes.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound medium or large shrimp, peeled and deveined (fresh or thawed frozen, tails on preferred)
  • 3 tablespoons butter (salted or unsalted)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil (extra-virgin is best)
  • 5 large garlic cloves, minced
  • ¼ teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (or more to taste)
  • 1 large lemon (both juice and zest)
  • ¼ cup chopped fresh parsley
  • Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Add the butter and olive oil to a large skillet over medium-high heat. Let them heat until sizzling and the butter is fully melted.
  2. Add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes to the hot butter mixture. Cook and stir constantly for about 30 seconds until fragrant, avoiding burning the garlic.
  3. Add the shrimp to the skillet in a single layer. Cook and stir until the shrimp turn pink and opaque, about 3-4 minutes.
  4. Stir in the fresh lemon juice, lemon zest, and chopped parsley. Toss to coat the shrimp evenly in the sauce.
  5. Taste and season with salt and pepper as needed. Serve immediately while hot.

Notes

Serve with crusty bread for dipping or over pasta or rice for a fuller meal. Best enjoyed fresh, can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
