Description
A quick and elegant dish featuring succulent shrimp in a rich lemon garlic butter sauce, ready in about 20 minutes.
Ingredients
- 1 pound medium or large shrimp, peeled and deveined (fresh or thawed frozen, tails on preferred)
- 3 tablespoons butter (salted or unsalted)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil (extra-virgin is best)
- 5 large garlic cloves, minced
- ¼ teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (or more to taste)
- 1 large lemon (both juice and zest)
- ¼ cup chopped fresh parsley
- Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
Instructions
- Add the butter and olive oil to a large skillet over medium-high heat. Let them heat until sizzling and the butter is fully melted.
- Add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes to the hot butter mixture. Cook and stir constantly for about 30 seconds until fragrant, avoiding burning the garlic.
- Add the shrimp to the skillet in a single layer. Cook and stir until the shrimp turn pink and opaque, about 3-4 minutes.
- Stir in the fresh lemon juice, lemon zest, and chopped parsley. Toss to coat the shrimp evenly in the sauce.
- Taste and season with salt and pepper as needed. Serve immediately while hot.
Notes
