Description

This garlic butter grilled shrimp recipe is quick, easy, and perfect for impressing guests or enjoying a delicious dinner at home.

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds large tail-on shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • ½ cup (1 stick) salted butter, melted
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ teaspoon sea salt
  • 2 tablespoons minced fresh flat-leaf parsley, plus more for garnish
  • 1 lemon, cut into wedges
  • Metal or bamboo skewers (if using bamboo, soak for 30 minutes)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your grill or grill pan to medium-high heat.
  2. Make the garlic butter by whisking together melted butter, minced garlic, paprika, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, salt, and parsley in a large bowl. Set aside ¼ cup for brushing later.
  3. Add the shrimp to the remaining garlic butter and toss until coated.
  4. Thread the shrimp onto skewers, evenly distributing about 5 to 6 shrimp per skewer.
  5. Grill the skewers for 3 to 4 minutes undisturbed on one side, then flip and grill for another 3 to 4 minutes until lightly charred and cooked through.
  6. Transfer the skewers to a platter, brush with reserved garlic butter, and garnish with additional parsley. Serve with lemon wedges.

Notes

For a spicy kick, add more cayenne pepper or try the Cajun version by adding Cajun seasoning.
