Description

A rich and creamy dish featuring layers of tender potatoes in a velvety cheese sauce, seasoned with herbs.


Ingredients

  • 4 large potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 tsp dried thyme
  • 1 tsp dried rosemary
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Grease a baking dish with butter to prevent sticking.
  3. Layer half of the sliced potatoes evenly in the dish.
  4. Sprinkle half of the cheddar cheese, thyme, rosemary, garlic powder, salt, and pepper over the potatoes.
  5. Repeat with the remaining potatoes, cheese, and seasonings.
  6. Pour the heavy cream evenly over the top layer.
  7. Cover the dish with foil and bake for 45 minutes.
  8. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the top is golden and bubbling.
  9. Allow to cool for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

This dish can be made ahead and stored for up to 3 days in the refrigerator or frozen for up to 2 months.
