Description
A delightful side dish featuring carrots caramelized in butter and honey, infused with fresh thyme.
Ingredients
- 2 pounds carrots, peeled and cut into 2-inch pieces
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 3 tablespoons honey
- 2 tablespoons water
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon fresh thyme leaves
Instructions
- In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat, cooking for 3-4 minutes until golden brown and nutty.
- Add carrots, water, and salt, stirring to coat the carrots evenly.
- Cover the skillet, cooking for about 8 minutes until the carrots are fork-tender but still slightly crunchy.
- Remove the cover and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until water evaporates.
- Drizzle honey over the carrots and toss for 1-2 minutes until glossy.
- Season with black pepper and top with fresh thyme. Serve immediately.
Notes
For a different flavor, substitute maple syrup for honey.
