Ingredients

  • 1 pound carrots, peeled and cut into sticks or rounds
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (optional)


Instructions

  1. Prep the carrots: Peel the carrots and cut them into sticks or rounds of similar size for even cooking.
  2. Sauté: In a large skillet, melt the unsalted butter over medium heat. Once bubbling, add the carrots, sprinkle with salt and black pepper, and stir frequently for about 5 minutes.
  3. Add honey: Drizzle the honey over the sautéed carrots and cook for an additional 5-7 minutes until tender and glossy.
  4. Finish and serve: Add a splash of fresh lemon juice just before serving. Garnish with chopped parsley.

Notes

For added flavor, a dash of cinnamon or ginger may be included. Baby carrots can be used for convenience without slicing.
