A quick and delicious honey garlic shrimp dish, perfect for weeknight meals that rivals restaurant takeout.
Ingredients
- ½ cup honey
- ¼ cup low-sodium soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon fresh grated ginger
- 2 tablespoons minced garlic
- ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 1 teaspoon cornstarch
- 1 pound large shrimp (16-20 count), peeled and deveined
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 cups broccoli florets, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 1 teaspoon olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a small bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, grated ginger, minced garlic, and red pepper flakes to make the marinade.
- Place shrimp in a medium bowl, add one-third of the sauce, and toss to coat. Set aside to marinate.
- Add cornstarch to the remaining sauce and whisk until smooth. Set aside.
- Heat a large skillet over high heat. Add olive oil and broccoli. Season with salt and pepper. Cook for 5-6 minutes until tender and bright green. Remove and set aside.
- Add butter to the skillet. Once melted, add shrimp in a single layer, cooking for about 2 minutes per side until pink and opaque.
- Pour in the reserved sauce and bring to a low-medium simmer, cooking for 2-3 minutes until thickened.
- Add broccoli back to the pan and toss until heated through and coated in sauce.
- Serve immediately over rice or pasta.
Notes
For deeper flavor, let shrimp marinate for 30 minutes. Use fresh ingredients for the best taste.
