Description

A quick and delicious honey garlic shrimp dish, perfect for weeknight meals that rivals restaurant takeout.

Ingredients

  • ½ cup honey
  • ¼ cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon fresh grated ginger
  • 2 tablespoons minced garlic
  • ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  • 1 pound large shrimp (16-20 count), peeled and deveined
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 cups broccoli florets, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, grated ginger, minced garlic, and red pepper flakes to make the marinade.
  2. Place shrimp in a medium bowl, add one-third of the sauce, and toss to coat. Set aside to marinate.
  3. Add cornstarch to the remaining sauce and whisk until smooth. Set aside.
  4. Heat a large skillet over high heat. Add olive oil and broccoli. Season with salt and pepper. Cook for 5-6 minutes until tender and bright green. Remove and set aside.
  5. Add butter to the skillet. Once melted, add shrimp in a single layer, cooking for about 2 minutes per side until pink and opaque.
  6. Pour in the reserved sauce and bring to a low-medium simmer, cooking for 2-3 minutes until thickened.
  7. Add broccoli back to the pan and toss until heated through and coated in sauce.
  8. Serve immediately over rice or pasta.

Notes

For deeper flavor, let shrimp marinate for 30 minutes. Use fresh ingredients for the best taste.
