Description

Creamy, velvety honey butter mashed sweet potatoes with a perfect balance of sweet and buttery flavors, ideal for holidays or family dinners.

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs sweet potatoes, peeled and chopped
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter
  • ¼ cup raw honey
  • ½ cup whole milk or heavy cream
  • ½ tsp ground cinnamon
  • ½ tsp salt

Instructions

  1. Peel and chop sweet potatoes into even chunks. Place them in a pot with cold water.
  2. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat and cook for 15–20 minutes until fork-tender. Drain well.
  3. Return sweet potatoes to the pot and mash until smooth.
  4. Stir in butter and honey while warm so they melt beautifully into the mash.
  5. Gradually mix in milk or cream until creamy. Season with salt and cinnamon.
  6. Check sweetness and seasoning, adjusting if needed before serving.

Notes

Pro Tip: Swap regular butter for brown butter for a deeper flavor. Add a sprinkle of nutmeg or drizzle of maple syrup for a unique twist. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days and reheat gently with a splash of milk.
