Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup milk
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup pureed strawberries
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups heavy whipping cream
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup chopped strawberries for topping


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease three 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. Cream the softened butter and granulated sugar together until light and fluffy.
  3. Add eggs one at a time, ensuring thorough mixing after each addition. Stir in vanilla extract.
  4. Whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt in another bowl. Gradually add this mixture to the creamed mixture, alternating with milk.
  5. Fold in pureed strawberries until fully combined.
  6. Evenly distribute the batter into the prepared pans.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  8. Allow cakes to cool in pans for about 10 minutes, then transfer them to wire racks to cool completely.
  9. Whip heavy cream and powdered sugar together until stiff peaks form for the frosting.
  10. Layer the whipped frosting between and around the cake, adding chopped strawberries on top.
