Ingredients
- 8 oz mushrooms, sliced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup white wine
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon Italian herbs (dried)
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Heat the olive oil in a pan over medium heat.
- Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.
- Stir in the sliced mushrooms and cook until softened, roughly 5-7 minutes.
- Pour in the white wine and let it simmer until reduced by half.
- Stir in the heavy cream, Italian herbs, and lemon juice.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Simmer for a few more minutes until the sauce thickens to your liking.
- Serve over your favorite dish, such as mashed potatoes or rice.
Notes
For a lighter version, substitute heavy cream with half-and-half or use vegetable broth for a non-alcoholic option.
