Description

Homemade Hamburger Helper is the ultimate easy weeknight dinner recipe made with ground beef, egg noodles, and cream of mushroom soup. This family-friendly stove top dish comes together in under 30 minutes, making it a simple yet flavorful meal everyone will love.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 4 cups water
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 12 oz egg noodles
  • 10.5 oz condensed cream of mushroom soup
  • 2 tablespoons butter

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, cook ground beef over medium heat until fully browned. Drain excess fat if needed.
  2. Add water, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper to the skillet and stir well.
  3. Bring mixture to a boil, then stir in the egg noodles.
  4. Reduce heat to medium-low, cover, and cook for 8–10 minutes until the noodles are tender. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking.
  5. Once the noodles are cooked, stir in the condensed cream of mushroom soup and butter.
  6. Cook for 2–3 more minutes, stirring until the sauce is creamy and coats the noodles evenly.
  7. Serve warm and enjoy a quick, hearty dinner.

Notes

Use ground turkey or chicken as a lighter alternative to beef. Add shredded cheddar cheese at the end for a creamier, cheesier version. Mix in frozen peas, corn, or green beans for extra nutrition and flavor.
