Description

A comforting dish featuring tender chicken, fresh vegetables, and fluffy dumplings perfect for family gatherings or cozy dinners.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb chicken (boneless, skinless)
  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • 2 cups vegetables (carrots, peas, celery)
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1 egg

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, heat the chicken in the chicken broth until fully cooked. Remove it from the pot and shred it into bite-sized pieces.
  2. Add the vegetables to the broth, simmering until they’re tender and vibrant.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Combine with softened butter and milk until just mixed.
  4. Drop spoonfuls of the dumpling batter into the simmering broth. Cover and cook for 15-20 minutes until the dumplings are fluffy and cooked through.
  5. Stir in the shredded chicken and serve hot.

Notes

For a richer flavor, consider using homemade chicken broth. Adjust dumpling texture by adding more milk if needed.
