Ingredients
- 1 lb chicken (boneless, skinless)
- 4 cups chicken broth
- 2 cups vegetables (carrots, peas, celery)
- 1 cup milk
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 1 egg
Instructions
- In a large pot, heat the chicken in the chicken broth until fully cooked. Remove it from the pot and shred it into bite-sized pieces.
- Add the vegetables to the broth, simmering until they’re tender and vibrant.
- In a separate bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Combine with softened butter and milk until just mixed.
- Drop spoonfuls of the dumpling batter into the simmering broth. Cover and cook for 15-20 minutes until the dumplings are fluffy and cooked through.
- Stir in the shredded chicken and serve hot.
Notes
For a richer flavor, consider using homemade chicken broth. Adjust dumpling texture by adding more milk if needed.
