Description

A delightful homemade blueberry pie capturing the essence of summer with sweet and tart flavors.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups fresh blueberries
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 pie crust (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 egg (for egg wash, optional)


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. Combine blueberries, sugar, cornstarch, lemon juice, and cinnamon in a mixing bowl.
  3. Pour the blueberry mixture into the prepared pie crust.
  4. Dot the filling with small pieces of butter.
  5. Place the top crust over the filling, cutting slits for steam to escape.
  6. Brush the top crust with an egg wash for a golden finish, if desired.
  7. Bake for 15 minutes at 425°F, then reduce temperature to 350°F (175°C) and continue baking for 35-40 minutes.
  8. Allow the pie to cool before slicing and serving.

Notes
