Description
A quick and easy homemade blueberry syrup that enhances pancakes, waffles, and desserts with real blueberry flavor.
Ingredients
- 1 cup blueberries (fresh or frozen)
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- ½ cup water
- 1 Tablespoon lemon juice
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
Instructions
- Combine the blueberries, sugar, water, and lemon juice in a small saucepan.
- Lightly crush some of the berries using a potato masher.
- Bring the mixture to a boil over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally.
- Simmer for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally until glossy and slightly thickened.
- Finish by stirring in vanilla extract, then cool for 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
Store in a sealed container in the fridge for up to 7 days. Can be reheated and thinned with water if necessary.
