A festive twist on classic guacamole, shaped like Frankenstein for Halloween celebrations.
Ingredients
- 3 medium ripe avocados, peeled and cubed
- ¼ cup finely chopped onion
- 3 tbsp minced fresh cilantro
- 2 tbsp lime juice
- ⅛ tsp salt
- Tortilla chips (preferably dark-colored)
- Optional: Sour cream
- Optional: Refried black beans
- Optional: Ripe olives
Instructions
- In a small bowl, mash the avocados with a fork. Leave slightly chunky or mash smooth to preference.
- Stir in chopped onion, cilantro, lime juice, and salt until well combined.
- Spoon the guacamole onto a platter and shape into a rectangle for the “Frankenstein face.”
- Arrange tortilla chips at the top to resemble spiky hair.
- Use sour cream, olives, and refried beans to decorate the face with eyes, mouth, and bolts.
- Serve immediately with extra tortilla chips or fresh vegetables.
Notes
Speed up avocado ripening by placing them in a paper bag with an apple or banana. For extra flavor, mix in minced garlic, jalapeño, or a pinch of cumin. Store leftovers in an airtight container with plastic wrap pressed directly against the guacamole surface to slow browning.
