Ingredients
- 2 ripe avocados
- 1 lime, juiced
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 1 tomato, diced
- 1 jalapeño, finely chopped (optional)
- Salt, to taste
- Fresh cilantro, chopped (optional)
Instructions
- Cut the avocados in half, remove the pit, and scoop the flesh into a bowl.
- Mash the avocados with a fork until smooth or leave a few chunks for texture.
- Add lime juice, onion, tomato, jalapeño (if using), and salt.
- Mix until everything is well combined.
- Taste and adjust seasoning, adding more salt or lime juice if desired.
- Stir in chopped cilantro if you like a fresh herbaceous note.
- Serve immediately with tortilla chips or as a topping for tacos, burritos, or salads.

To minimize browning, store guacamole with plastic wrap directly touching the surface.
